Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING GLOVE COMPARTMENT .
Removing the glove compartment damper
NOTE:
Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.
- Pull out expanding rivet (1) .
- Open glove compartment lid slightly.
- Turn glove compartment damper (2)
clockwise by approx. 90° and remove from the glove compartment.
Installing the glove compartment dampers
NOTE:
Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.
- With the glove compartment cover slightly open, position the glove compartment damper (2) and rotate it about 90° anti-clockwise.
- Install the expanding rivet (1)

Replacing lock cylinder
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The lock cylinder and the opener must always be replaced because they cannot be removed from the glove box lid.

- Replace the lock cylinder.

Assembling the lock cylinder
NOTE:

- Sort the enclosed guard controls (1)
as per the graphic.
X = number embossed on the guard control (1)
Y = installation position in the lock cylinder
NOTE:
The description is provided only at one component. The procedure is the same for all other components.
- Insert the spring (1)
into the lock cylinder (2)
.
- Insert and engage the guard control (1)
with the lowest embossed number X
into position Y
of the lock cylinder (2)
.
The guard control engages audibly.
- Insert the ignition key (1) into the lock cylinder (3) .
- Check whether the guard control (2)
is flush with the housing.
Result
The guard control (2) is not flush with the housing (B) .
Measure
- Press out the guard control (2) from the lock cylinder (3) using a suitable tool.
Measure
- Repeat the operations using the guard control with the next higher number X, until the guard control is flush with the housing (A) .
- Insert the lock cylinder (1) using the ignition key into the glove box lock (2) and engage through pressure.
