Replace Hood
WARNING:
Working on 12 V electrical system.

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.
Preliminary work
- Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
- Refer to REMOVING THE EMBLEM .
- Refer to REMOVING THE NOZZLE CHAIN .
- Refer to REMOVING THE HOOD STRIKER .

New part is painted.

- Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
- Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the right and left side.
- Support the hood.
- Loosen nut (1).
- Release nut (2) and remove hood.
- Position new hood on hood hinge. Note the existing impressions of the nuts (1) and (2).
- Support the hood.
- Install the nuts (1) and (2) and tighten them.TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Bonnet Nut M8 Tightening torque 19 Nm - Slowly close the hood and check for bodywork contact, repositioning the hood if necessary.
- Release all clips (arrows) using the special tool 2 298 505 .
- Remove damping layer (1) and install on the new hood.
- Fit all clips.
- Release clips (1) and (2) with special tool 2 298 505
, and remove damping layer (3).
- Remove spacer (1) and install on the new hood.
Remove clip (2) and install on new hood.
- Position damping layer (3) on new hood, and fasten with clips (1) and (2).
- Release clips (arrows) with the special tool 2 298 505
and remove damping layer (1).
- Remove spacer (1) and install on the new hood.
Remove clip (2) and install on new hood.
- Position damping layer (1) on new hood, and fasten with clips (arrows).
- Pull out locking pin (1),
- Remove spacer (2) and install on the new hood.
- Remove seal plugs (arrows), and install on new hood.
- Renew sign (1) for refrigerant.

- Stick sign on new hood.
