41 51... Adjusting Left Or Right Doors

Adjustment sequence: 

1. Rear door
2. Front door:

The rear door can be adjusted by means of the following components:

1. UPPER LOCK STRIKER
2. LOWER LOCK STRIKER
3. Hinge, part on door side (range of adjustment sideways/height)
4. Hinge, part on body side (range of adjustment longitudinal/height)

Attention!  The adjustment via the part of the hinge (4) on the body side should only take place in case of an emergency and after body repair works that required the hinge to be disassembled.

Tightening torque: 

Hinge on rear door	41 52 2AZ
Hinge on body, rear	41 52 Az
upper lock striker, rear door	51 22 Az
lower lock striker, rear door	51 22 4AZ

Close rear door and front door and check alignment to one another.

Adjust rear door by moving the hinges (1) and/or the lock strikers (2).

If no proper setting can be reached, further adjustment can be carried out via the part of the hinges (1) on the body side. Therefore, the REAR SIDE PANEL  needs to be disassembled.

Attention!  The adjustment via the part of the hinge on the body side should only take place in case of an emergency and after body repair works that required the hinge to be disassembled.

Adjustment of rear door after disassembled hinge on body side

The adjustment needs to be carried out on a complete door without door trim panel.

The rear door needs to be adjusted so that the closed door evenly rests against the edge protection (1).

Close rear door and front door and check alignment to one another.

Adjust rear door by moving the hinges (2) and/or the lock strikers (3).

Attention!  The adjustment via the part of the hinge on the body side should only take place in case of an emergency and after body repair works that required the hinge to be disassembled.

The front door can be adjusted by means of the following components:

1. LOCK STRIKER
2. Hinge, part on door side (range of adjustment longitudinal/height)
3. Hinge, part on body side (range of adjustment sideways/height)

Attention!  The adjustment via the part of the hinge (3) on the body side should only take place in case of an emergency and after body repair works that required the hinge to be disassembled.

Tightening torque: 

Lock striker, front door	51 21 2AZ
Hinge on front door	41 51 2AZ
Hinge on body, front	41 51 Az

Close rear door and front door and check alignment to one another.

Adjust front door by moving the hinges (1) and/or the lock striker (2).

If no proper setting can be reached, further adjustment can be carried out via the part of the hinges (1) on the body side.
