16 19 050 Removing and installing/replacing passive tank

IMPORTANT: Ensure adequate ventilation in the workbay!
Avoid skin contact (wear gloves)!
Avoid eye contact (safety goggles)!
Urea/water mixture can escape when components carrying urea/water mixture are released. Have a collecting vessel ready.
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.
IMPORTANT: Maintain conditions of absolute cleanliness.
Connections and covers of lines carrying urea/water mixture must be cleaned thoroughly with water after each removal or before each installation!
Thoroughly clean the working area with water after repair work.
Use fluff-free cloths for cleaning.
Close connections and lines!
Thoroughly clean special tool with water after each use.

Necessary preliminary work: 

Removal: 

Unlock and disconnect snap fastener (1).

Release hose clamp (2) and pull off hose from passive tank.

Release nut (3) and remove transfer pump.

Unlock and disconnect snap fastener (1).

Release hose clamp (2) and pull off filling hose from passive tank.

IMPORTANT: Support passive tank (4)!

Release screw (3) and remove tensioning strap.

Remove passive tank (4) downwards.

Installation: 

Install passive tank (4).

IMPORTANT: Support passive tank (4)!

Fit tensioning strap.

Fit bolt (3) and tighten.

Tightening torque: 16 19 2AZ .

Position snap fastener (1) and lock.

Fit fuel filling hose on passive tank.

Mount and attach hose clamp (2).

Replace hose clamp (2).

Position snap fastener (1) and lock.

Fit hose (2) on passive tank.

Mount and attach hose clamp (2).

Replace hose clamp (2).

Parts:  Hose clamp

Mount transfer pump.

Fit nut (3) and tighten.
