Removing and installing parking lock module
In the event of an open circuit, e.g. with discharge battery or electrical fault, the parking lock must be manually unlocked, otherwise the wheels are blocked and the vehicle cannot be moved.
Attention!
Secure vehicle with appropriate means/equipment against rolling off. (e.g. chocks, parking brake).
Press the brake pedal when manually releasing the transmission lock.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove propeller shaft. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
- COMPLETELY REMOVE AND INSTALL THE PROPELLER SHAFT MADE OF STEEL (INSERTED AT THE REAR)
- COMPLETELY REMOVE AND INSTALL THE PROPELLER SHAFT MADE OF STEEL (INSERTED AT THE REAR)
- REMOVING AND INSTALLING CARBON PROPELLER SHAFT (INSERTED) COMPLETE
- REMOVING AND INSTALLING CARBON PROPELLER SHAFT (INSERTED) COMPLETE
- Remove CENTER CONSOLE .
Removal:
Loosen screw (1).
Unlock retainer (2).
Detach the Bowden cable of the parking lock module from the lever and guide.
Remove the carpet cover (1).
Disconnect connector (1).
Release the latch mechanisms and carefully press the module toward the bottom.
Remove the parking lock module from the bottom.
Installation:
Install and latch the parking lock module (1) from the bottom.
Install the cable.
Lock the fuse (2).
Insert screw (1) and tighten.
Connect and lock the connector (1).
Install the carpet cover (1).
Required follow-up work:
- Install propeller shaft. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
- COMPLETELY REMOVE AND INSTALL THE PROPELLER SHAFT MADE OF STEEL (INSERTED AT THE REAR)
- COMPLETELY REMOVE AND INSTALL THE PROPELLER SHAFT MADE OF STEEL (INSERTED AT THE REAR)
- REMOVING AND INSTALLING CARBON PROPELLER SHAFT (INSERTED) COMPLETE
- REMOVING AND INSTALLING CARBON PROPELLER SHAFT (INSERTED) COMPLETE
- Install CENTER CONSOLE .
- Lock TRANSMISSION .
This procedure must be performed in order for the transmission to be shifted back to the parking position (P) and the vehicle to be secured against rolling away.
