Removing and installing/replacing holder (adapter) on rear axle differential at front

Special tools required: 

• 23 4 050
• 00 2 030

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove propeller shaft. Refer to COMPLETELY REMOVE AND INSTALL THE PROPELLER SHAFT MADE OF STEEL (INSERTED AT THE REAR) or REMOVING AND INSTALLING CARBON PROPELLER SHAFT (INSERTED) COMPLETE .

Removal: 

Support rear axle final drive unit with special tools 23 4 050 and 00 2 030.

Release screws (1, 2 and 3).

Remove front adapter.

Installation: 

Part  : Replace screw (3).

Insert screw (3) in front holder (4).

Position front holder (4).

Part  : Replace screws (2).

Tighten down screws (2).

Tightening torque 33 17 1AZ .

Part  : Replace screw (1).

Tighten screw (1 and 3).

Tightening torque 33 17 2AZ .

Lower and place aside special tools 23 4 050 and 00 2 030.

Required follow-up work: 

• Install propeller shaft. Refer to COMPLETELY REMOVE AND INSTALL THE PROPELLER SHAFT MADE OF STEEL (INSERTED AT THE REAR) or REMOVING AND INSTALLING CARBON PROPELLER SHAFT (INSERTED) COMPLETE .
