Removing and installing/replacing auxiliary water pump (S55 engine)

Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.

Recycling 

Coolant emerges when coolant lines are detached. Have a suitable collecting vessel ready.

Catch and dispose of emerging coolant.

Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove CHARGE-AIR DUCT .
• Drain COOLANT .

Unlock and disconnect the connector (1).

Release screw (2) and open clamp.

Unlock and remove coolant hoses (3).

Remove auxiliary coolant pump (4).

Installation note: 

Make sure auxiliary water pump (4) is fitted correctly in bracket auxiliary water pump bracket.

After installation: 

• Fill cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND ADDING COOLANT (S55 ENGINE) .

ATTENTION! 

Filling and bleeding must not be performed in ECO-PRO MODE!

• CHECK COOLING SYSTEM FOR LEAKS .
