51 49 007 Removing and installing/replacing all trims for rear lid (Touring)

For removal purposes, the trim panel wedge (special tool 00 9 317) must be present twice.

Without the trim panel wedge, the sprayed links (clips) on the trims will be damaged.

Damaged trims must be replaced.

(A) Trim on rear lid, top center: 

First lever out center clip (1) with two special tools 00 9 317.

Lever out outer clips (2).

Feed trim (3) out of swallow-tail guides of side trims (4).

Installation: 

1. If necessary, replace faulty connector inserts (1).

Installation: 

Following parts of trim (1) must not be damaged:

1. 2 Swallow-tail guides
2. 3 Clip mounts

(B) Trim on rear lid, outside bottom: 

Lever out clip (1) with special tool 00 9 310.

Detach trim (2) from swallow-tail guide (3) of trim (4).

Installation: 

1. If necessary, replace faulty connector insert (1).

3. 3 Spacer
4. 4 Clip mount

(B) Trim on rear lid, side outside: 

Release trim on rear lid, top center, refer to (A).

Release trim on rear lid, outside bottom, refer to (B).

Lever out retainers (1) of trim (2) with special tool 00 9 317.

   If necessary, fit foam straps (3).

(D) Trim on rear lid, inside side: 

Remove trunk lid trim panel, refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING TRIM PANEL FOR TRUNK LID (TOURING)  .

Lever out clips (1) with special tools 00 9 317.

Feed trim (2) out of swallow-tail guides (3) of center trim (4).

Release trim on rear lid, inside side, left/right, refer to (D).

Lever out clips (1) of trim (2) with two special tools 00 9 317.
