51 36 015 Removing And Installing Rear Left Or Right Hinged Window (Coupe)

Unhook connecting rod on hinged window, refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM ON REAR SEAT BACKREST SIDE SECTION (COUPE) .

Remove panel for door pillar (B-pillar), refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM PANEL FOR LEFT OR RIGHT DOOR PILLAR (TOP) (COUPE) .

Lever out protective caps (1) and release screws underneath. Remove hinged window (2).

Installation:

Tightening Torque, refer to 51 36 1AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES - 3-SERIES .

Installation:

Retainer (1) must be correctly seated.
Opening of support (2) must point towards rear.
Thread (3) on hinged window (4) must not be damaged.

Ideal adjustment:

(A) Distance of strip (2) to edge of door window (1).
(B) Distance from hinged window edge (3) to water drain (4), top.
(C) Distance from hinged window edge (3) to water drain (4), in corner.

Distances:

(A) Up to 6 mm.
(B) 1 mm.
(C) Up to 1.8 mm.

NOTE: If distance (A) is not achieved, a new cover strip (2) must be fitted. If necessary, replace cover on hinged window at rear, refer to REPLACING COVER ON SIDE WINDOW (HINGED WINDOW), REAR LEFT OR RIGHT (COUPE) .
