Removing and installing/replacing wiring harness section for engine sensor system module 1 (S55 engine)

CAUTION: Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION) .

Necessary preliminary work: 

Removal: 

Release screws (1) below cable channel.

Unlock and pull off connector (1) from high pressure pump.

Unlock and pull off connector (2) from high pressure pump at rear.

Place connector (3) from throttle body to one side.

Unlock and pull off connector (4) from vacuum pump.

Unlock connector (5) and detach from alternator.

Place connector (6) from sensor on charge air cooler to one side.

Unlock and pull off connector (7) for sensor system module 2 wiring harness.

Unlock and pull off connector (8) for sensor system module 2 wiring harness.

Unlock and pull off connector (1) for sensor system module 2 wiring harness.

Place connector (2) from sensor on intake plenum to one side.

Unlock and pull off connector (3) from starter motor.

Unlock and pull off connector (4) for sensor system module 2 wiring harness.

Unlock and pull off connector (5) from crankshaft sensor.

Place connector (1) from sensor on intake plenum to one side.

Unlock and pull off connector (2) from front oxygen sensor of cylinders 4 to 6.

Unlock and pull off connector (3) from front oxygen sensor of cylinders 1 to 3.

Unlock and pull off connector (1) from monitoring oxygen sensor of cylinders 4 to 6.

Unlock and pull off connector (2) from monitoring oxygen sensor of cylinders 1 to 3.

Unlock and pull off connector (3) from oil-level sensor.

Release wiring harness if necessary from existing clips and clamps.

Feed out wiring harness and remove.

Installation:

Feed in and route engine wiring harness sensor system module 1.

Attach and audibly lock connector (1) on high pressure pump at front.

Attach and audibly lock connector (2) on high pressure pump at rear.

Lay connector (3) to throttle body.

Attach and audibly lock connector (4) on vacuum pump.

Attach and audibly lock connector (5) on alternator.

Lay connector (6) to sensor on charge air cooler.

Attach and audibly lock connector (7) on connector for sensor system module 2 wiring harness.

Attach and audibly lock connector (8) on connector for sensor system module 2 wiring harness.

Attach and audibly lock connector (1) on connector for sensor system module 2 wiring harness.

Lay connector (2) to sensor on intake plenum.

Attach and audibly lock connector (3) on starter motor.

Attach and audibly lock connector (4) on connector for sensor system module 2 wiring harness.

Attach connector (5) to the crankshaft sensor and lock it audibly.

Lay connector (1) to sensor on intake plenum.

Attach and audibly lock connector (2) on front oxygen sensor of cylinders 4 to 6.

Attach and audibly lock connector (3) on front oxygen sensor of cylinders 1 to 3.

Attach and audibly lock connector (1) on monitoring oxygen sensor of cylinders 4 to 6.

Attach and audibly lock connector (2) on monitoring oxygen sensor of cylinders 1 to 3.

Connect the connector (3) to the oil-level sensor and lock it audibly.

Tighten screws (1) below the cable channel.

Tightening torque 12 90 4AZ .

Replace aluminium screws.

Installation note: 

Check wiring harness installation arrangement.

Check plug connections for correct fit.

Check stored fault messages.

Delete the fault memory.
