Replace pressure sensor on charge air cooler (S55 engine)

Carry out this repair only when the engine has cooled down.

Attention!

Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION) .

Necessary preliminary work: 

• Read out fault code memory of the DME control unit.
• Switch off the ignition

Removal: 

Partially detach sealing (1) and lay to one side.

Unlock connector (2) and remove.

Release screws (1) and pull pressure sensor (3) out of charge air cooler (4).

Preparation for installation: 

Check sealing ring (1) for damage. Replace damaged sealing ring.

When installing, coat sealing ring with suitable lubricant.

Installation: 

Install pressure sensor (3) in charge air cooler (4).

Tighten screws (1) of pressure sensor (3).

Tightening torque 13 62 4AZ .

Attach connector (2).

Connector (2) must snap audibly into place.

Install sealing (1).

Required reworking: 

• Erase fault memory of DME control unit.
