Removing and installing/replacing left auxiliary radiator (S55 engine)

Only perform this repair work after engine has cooled down.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Follow notes for CARRYING OUT REPAIR WORK ON THE COOLING SYSTEM .
• Removing front left WHEEL ARCH COVER (front section)
• Drain COOLANT .

Removal: 

Unlock and release coolant lines (1).

Catch and dispose of escaping coolant.

Release screw (2).

Lift auxiliary radiator (3) off of rubber mount and remove.

Installation:

Insert auxiliary radiator (3) in rubber mount and install.

Tighten screw (2).

Tightening torque 17 10 6AZ .

Connect and lock coolant lines (1).

The coolant lines (1) must audibly engage.

Required follow-up work: 

• Install front WHEEL ARCH COVER (front section), left.
• Bleed and fill COOLING SYSTEM (HIGH-TEMPERATURE COOLING CIRCUIT)  with vacuum filling unit.
