Triggering/retracting rollover protection system (BMW diagnosis system) (M4 Convertible)
WARNING:
Danger of injury!
When the actuators are electrically activated, there must be no persons present in the vicinity of the rollover protection system.
IMPORTANT:
Stow roof module in soft top compartment (open).
When the actuators are activated, both rollover protection bars are simultaneously triggered.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove both TRIMS FROM THE ROLLOVER PROTECTION BAR .
Carry out service function "Trigger rollover protection bar":
- Service functions
- 03 Body
- Safety functions
- Trigger roll bar.
Retracting the rollover protection system
Pull locking pawl (1) upwards and slowly press the rollover protection bar (2) down approx. 10 cm.
Enable locking pawl (1) and press down the rollover protection bar (2) with momentum up to limit position.
Rollover protection bar (2) must audibly engage!
Install both COVERS ON THE ROLLOVER PROTECTION BARS .
NOTE:
Carry out work on the right side in the same way as for the left side illustrated here.
