Removing and installing/replacing roofliner for roof shell at rear (M4 Convertible)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Move soft top into service position.

Move soft top so that angle of the hinges is not ≤90°.

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage! Pressure in hydraulic system drops and soft top loses its position.

Support rear roof shell to soft top cover with suitable auxiliary materials.

Auxiliary materials must lie over wide area and if possible over entire length.

Rear roof shell is supported by auxiliary materials on soft top cover.

Roof shells block each other.

Carefully insert clip remover between headliner and roof shell.

Lift out clips (1) from roof shell using clip remover.

Installation note:

Replace faulty clips.

Release screw (1) for guide lugs for tension cable.

Tightening torque 54 37 15AZ .

Unclip headliner from clips (1) at top.

Detach roofliner in area (1) of the dual lock.

Pull headliner upwards and out of clips in marked area (1).

Installation note:

Make sure headliner is properly located in the clips.
