Removing and installing/replacing adjusting unit for backrest width adjustment on left or right front seat (Convertible)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove front seat. Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, DRIVER'S SIDE or REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, PASSENGER'S SIDE .
- Remove SEAT SIDE AIRBAG .
- Remove COVER FROM THE INNER BACKREST .
- Remove COVER FROM THE OUTER BACKREST .
Detach backrest cover on left and right from metal retainer.
Unclip soft-top bow (1) on left and right and detach from backrest frame.
Unclip cover in direction of arrow.
Installation note:
Remove metal clamps (1) left and right on the cover.
Bend up metal clamps and insert back into the cover.
Clip metal clamps (1) with cover into the slot on the seat mechanism.
Guide lugs may not be broken.
Replace faulty cover if necessary.
Detach backrest cover from metal retainer.
Detach backrest cover from metal retainer.
Detach lower section of welt from backrest frame.
Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.
Remove valve unit (2) in direction of arrow.
Cut open cable strap (1).
Installation note:
Attach cable strap (1) over fifth wire.
Disconnect cable strap (1 to 3).
Installation note:
Attach cable strap (1) below first wire.
Attach cable strap (2) over third wire.
Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.
Release screws (1).
Release screws (1).
Feed out backrest width adjustment completely from the seat mechanism towards the rear.

- Air cushion with holder, right
