Removing and installing or replacing rear panel on left or right front seat backrest

Special tools required: 

• 2 154 711
• 2 298 505
• 64 1 020

Necessary preliminary work: 

• Remove front seat. Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, DRIVER'S SIDE  or REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, PASSENGER'S SIDE .

Use of the fitting aid 2 154 711 is recommended for professional repair.

Release screw (1).

Release and feed out the trim (2) at the latch mechanisms (3).

Release expanding rivet (1).

Installation note: 

Replace faulty expander rivets.

Only for vehicles equipped with Competition package: 

Lift welt (1) for backrest cover using special tool 2 298 505 (wedge) on both sides out of the rear panel (2).

Completely lift out welt (1) for backrest cover with special tool 64 1 020.

Tilt backrest cover (1) slightly forwards.

Press rear panel (2) in marked areas to the front and simultaneously remove upwards and to rear.
