32 31 102 Replacing steering shaft collar (2' Series coupe and convertible, 2017-2021)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Refer to REMOVING TRIM PANEL FOR PEDAL MECHANISM .
Refer to REMOVING AIRBAG MODULE for driver knee protection
Unclip air duct in footwell.
Remove bottom steering shaft in engine compartment. Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING STEERING COLUMN

Pull locking pin (1) off of steering shaft collar.

Press in latch mechanisms (2) from engine compartment and press steering shaft collar in passenger compartment.

Installation note:

Mount STEERING COLUMN with steering shaft collar from passenger compartment.

Screw steering column on body.

Insert steering shaft collar into the recesses in the firewall and press in until the latch mechanisms engage audibly and palpably.

Check latch mechanisms from engine compartment for tight fit and mount locking pin.
