Installing the rear trim

Check clips (1) on rear trim (2) for damage and replace them if necessary.

Check spacer (1) for damage and replace it if necessary.
Position and engage the spacer (1) correctly in the rear trim (3).
If necessary, replace missing screws (2) on rear trim (3).

Check the seals (1) and (2) for damage; replace if necessary.
Check gutter strips (3) for damage and replace them if necessary.
Check seals (4) on rear lights (5) on the tailgate for damage and replace them if necessary.

Coat the seal (1) on the rear trim (2) with a suitable lubricant.

Open the tailgate slightly.
Position the rear trim (1) with the seal (2) on the rear window from the bottom.
Thread the sealing lip (3) of the seal (2) completely under the rear window (4).
Press on seal (2) with special tool 0 490 538 (00 9 321) .

NOTE: Perform the steps on the left and right side.

Tighten nuts (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Rear trim to trunk lid
M5 nut	Tightening torque	4.5 Nm

Connect connectors (1) and lock.
