Removing and installing or replacing left or right gas pressure spring for tailgate (4' Series Gran Coupe Sedan)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove D-PILLAR TRIM PANEL
- Remove LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH PANEL
Remove clip (1).
Unclip funnel (2) from clip (3).
Danger of injury!
Support tailgate in fully opened position with suitable apparatus.
NOTE:
Make a written record of the alignment of gas strut (2) before removing.
DISASSEMBLE ball socket (1) with clamp.
Remove gas pressure spring (2) together with funnel (3).
Replacement:
Detach the retaining lugs (1) from around the gaiter (2) and remount the gaiter (2).
