Replacing rear left or right side window (4' Series Gran Coupe Sedan)

- GENERAL PROCEDURE for dismantling/installing bonded window glass
Removal is carried out with WIRE PULL HANDLES .
The following new PARTS/CONSUMABLES are required:

Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove the BELT FEED TRIM
- Remove TRIM STRIP AT GUTTER STRIP
Removal:
Release the trim strip (1) in area (A) from the double-sided adhesive tape.
Release the trim strip (1) downward out of the clip (2) and remove.
Release edge protection (1) in the area of gasket (2).
Release the seal (1) in area (A) from the double-sided adhesive tape.
Pull the seal (2) off the side window and feed out upward in area (B).
Cutting through the rear adhesive bead:
Feed a wire (1) behind the PVC coating of the side window and wrap it completely around the side window.
Attach wire pull handles (2) to the wire (1).
Secure the side window on the body with adhesive tape.
To facilitate cutting through the adhesive bead, heat the wire (1) by means of sawing motion.
Cut through the adhesive bead from back to front.
Pull wire pull handles (2) out so that wire (1) will not be pulled across body.
Cutting through the front adhesive bead:
Cutting through the adhesive bead will damage the paintwork in the area of the B-pillar.
TOUCH UP any paint damage following the side window disassembly.
Pull the wire handle (1) downwards while holding wire handle (2) as counter support.
There are guide pins in area (A) which can be cut through using increased force.
Cut through adhesive bead completely and remove side window.
Installation:
Remove the remaining guide pins (1) and Dual Lock tape (2) and clean the bonding surface.
Apply new Dual Lock tape (2) between the marks on the body area.
Overview for side window bonding:

Apply bead joint in area (1).
Follow the adhesive bead around the circumference of the PVC coating (2).
Perform the following repair work with a second person to give assistance.
First clip the side window (1) into the corresponding mounting with clip (2).
Then place side window (1) on side panel and feed in guide pins (3) as necessary.
Align the side window (1) with the side wall and latch it into the Dual Lock tapes.
Fix side window (1) in place using yellow plastic adhesive tapes.
To facilitate installation, moisten gasket (2) with water.
Thoroughly clean bonding surface in area (A) of the body with solvent cleaner R2.
Set the seal (2) in area (B) onto the side window from the top and then attach it downward to the side window.
Remove liner from the adhesive strip of the seal (2).
Press seal (2) onto adhesive strip in area (A).
Attach the edge protection (1) in the area of the seal (2).
Required follow-up work:
- Install the BELT FEED TRIM
- Remove TRIM STRIP FROM GUTTER STRIP
