Removing and installing/replacing rear window (4' Series Gran Coupe Sedan)

Attention!

- GENERAL PROCEDURE for dismantling/installing bonded window glass
Removal is carried out with SPIDER .
The following new PARTS/CONSUMABLES are required:

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove the LEFT AND RIGHT TRIM FOR THE REAR LID
- Remove AUXILIARY BRAKE LIGHT
When reusing the rear window:
Avoid damaging lines for heated rear window/-aerial.
Release screws (1).
Unlock plug connections (2) and disconnect.
Unfasten plug connection (3) and disconnect.
Secure cable to rear window with adhesive tape.
Attention!
Tape off body in area of piercing point with fabric adhesive tape (risk of damage).
Slide string out of SPIDER at line (1) through the adhesive bead.

Position of the suction anchor (1):
The suction anchor (1) must not line up to the roof outer skin (2).
Installation of spacer buffers/Dual Locks (spacers):
Attention!
Spacer buffers (1) and Dual Locks (2) are installed to prevent rear window breakage.
Completely remove damaged spacer buffers (1) and Dual Locks (2).
Bond new spacer buffer (1) and Dual Locks (2) to marks.
Overview of rear window bonding:

| b [mm] = Width adhesive bead | 8 ±2 |
| h [mm] = Height adhesive bead | 12 ±1 |
Remove the faulty left and right sealings (1) from the rear window.
Clean bonding surface with CLEANING AGENT R2 .
Bond the new left and right seals (1) at the markings of the rear window.
Replace faulty Dual Locks (2) left and right.
Bead joint must be located in area (A).
Installation note:
Carefully working on rear window with suction lifter:
- Place in position at bottom at distance (X and Y) from boot lid
X = 2 ± 0.5 mm (use special tool 00 9 470 to measure)
Y= 3 ± 1 mm (use special tool 51 0 010 to measure)
- Align sides evenly
- insert at top and press down
- Engage rear window in Dual Lock tapes
- secure in this position with yellow plastic adhesive tapes
