12 51 235 Removing and installing/replacing the engine wiring harness for the sensor system at module 1 (B48)

Attention!

Read and comply with NOTES ON PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION)!

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove the INTAKE PLENUM .
Remove the TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.
Remove the FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
Remove the REAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
Remove the ACOUSTIC COVER oil sump (loosen).

Unlock and loosen clamp along the arrows.

Remove cover (1).

Unlock and remove connector (1) in direction of arrow.

Unlock and disconnect plugs (2).

Unfasten cable clip (3).

Unlock and disconnect following connectors and lines
Unlock and pull off the connector for the charging pressure sensor from the intake plenum.
Unlock and disconnect the connector for the charging pressure sensor before the throttle valve.
Unlock connector on throttle body and disconnect
Unlock connector on oil level sensor and disconnect
Unlock connector on solenoid valve and pull off.
Unlock connector on crankshaft sensor and disconnect
Unlock connector on oil pressure switch and disconnect
Unlock and pull off the connector for the knock sensor.
Unlock and pull off the connector for the coolant temperature sensor.
Unlock and pull off connector alternator.

Release engine wiring harness for sensor system module 1 from any clips and clamps if necessary.

Remove the engine wiring harness for sensor system module 1.

Feed in and install the sensor system 1 wiring harness (1).

Loosen the clamps along the arrows.

Feed in and install sensor system 1 wiring harness (1).

Unlock and disconnect following connectors and lines
Connect and lock the connector for the charging pressure sensor from the intake plenum.
Connect and lock the connector for the charging pressure sensor before the throttle valve.
Connect and lock the connector from the throttle body.
Connect and lock the connector from the oil-level sensor.
Connect and lock the connector from the solenoid valve.
Connect and lock the connector from the crankshaft sensor.
Connect and lock the connector from the oil pressure switch.
Connect and lock the connector from the knock sensor.
Connect and lock the connector from the coolant temperature sensor.
Connect and lock the connector from the alternator.

Unlock and release the connector (4) for the wiring harness-sensor system 1.

Unlock and loosed the connector (3) wiring harness sensor system 2.

Unlock and loosen the connector (2) wiring harness - section for supply module.

Unlock and loosen the connector (1) Valvetronic servomotor.

All connectors must audibly engage.

Install cover (1).

Installation note:

Check the wiring harness installation arrangement.

Check that the plug connections are correctly fitted.

Necessary preliminary work:

Install the TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.
Install the INTAKE PLENUM .
Install the ACOUSTIC COVER oil sump.
Install the FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
Install the REAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
