12 51 210 Replacing wiring harness section for ignition and injectors (B48)

Attention!

Read and comply with NOTES ON PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION)!

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Disconnect the BATTERY NEGATIVE LEAD .
Remove the CORROSION PROTECTION COVER .

Overview of wiring harness section (1) for ignition and injectors.

Remove cover (1).

Unlock and detach connector (1) along the direction of the arrow.

Unlock and release connectors along the arrows.

Loosen nut (1), remove ground cable (2) and place to one side.

Raise cable channel (3).

Unlock and disconnect connector (1) at injectors.

NOTE: To disconnect the connectors at the injectors, the lock (1) needs to be pulled out in the direction of the arrow first. Then compress the lock (1) and pull off the connector at the same time.

Release clamp (1).

Unlock holder (2) and release.

Unlock holder (3) and release.

Thread out the wiring harness for the ignition and injectors (4) and remove.

Installation:

Feed in and install the ignition and injector wiring harness (4).

Connect holder (3) and lock.

Connect holder (2) and lock.

Secure clamp (1).

The holder and clamp must engage audibly.

Connect and lock the connectors (1) to the injectors.

Connector (1) must engage audibly.

Connect connector on the injectors until the lock (1) engages audibly.

Then lock the lock (1) in the direction of the arrow.

Thread in cable channel (3) and install.

Insert ground cable (2) and tighten nut (1).

Tightening torque, refer to: 12 52 5AZ .

Connect and lock connectors along the arrows.

Connectors must snap audibly into place.

Connect and lock connector (1) along the direction of the arrow.

All connectors (1) must engage audibly.

Install cover (1).

Required follow-up work:

Install the CORROSION PROTECTION COVER .
Connect the BATTERY EARTH LEAD .
