24 13 020 Replacing radial shaft seal for output flange (GA8HP50Z)
Special tools required:

Attention!
- Do not let skin come in contact with transmission oil and do not inhale transmission oil vapors.
- Wear protective gloves.
- Ensure adequate ventilation.
Attention!
After completion of repair work, check TRANSMISSION OIL LEVEL .
Use only the APPROVED TRANSMISSION OIL .
Failure to comply with this requirement will result in serious damage to the automatic transmission!
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove REAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Remove COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM .
- Remove TRANSMISSION CROSS MEMBER .
- Remove TRANSMISSION SUPPORT BLOCK .
- Remove PROPELLER SHAFT .
- Support transmission with lifter.
Removal:
Grip output flange (1) with special tool 23 0 020.
Release nut with special tool 24 2 380.
Attach special tool 33 1 150 to output flange.
Tighten screw into special tool and pull output flange off output shaft.
Slide special tool 23 3 160 over output shaft and screw into radial shaft seal until firmly connected to radial shaft seal.
Tighten screw (1) into special tool 23 3 160 until sealing ring is pulled out of transmission housing.
Installation:
Oil sealing lip on radial shaft seal (1).
Drive in radial shaft seal (1) with special tool 33 0 150 as far as it will go.
Parts : Replace nut.
Grip output flange (1) with special tool 23 0 020.
Tighten down nut with special tool 24 2 380.
Replace nut and secure with a mandrel (8 mm) by caulking.
Tightening torque 24 13 1AZ .
Required follow-up work:
- Install PROPELLER SHAFT .
- Install TRANSMISSION MOUNTING BRACKET .
- Install TRANSMISSION CROSS-MEMBER .
- Install EXHAUST SYSTEM .
- Install the REAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
