51 46 025 Removing and installing/replacing cover on ornamental grille for air outlet

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Open soft top
• Open and support soft top compartment lid
• Refer to REMOVING SIDE TRIM PANEL  on left and right
• Refer to REMOVING HEAD RESTRAINT on rear left and right

Removal: 

Remove expanding rivet (1).

Release screws (1).

Lift out cover (1) on left and right.

Undo trim panel (2) from clips (3).

Remove fixture cover (1) left and right by moving it inwards.

Feed out trim panel (2) upwards and detach the seat belts while doing so.

Installation: 

Feed in trim panel (2) downwards and attach the seat belts while doing so.

Install cover (1) left and right.

Clip in trim panel (2) into clips (3).

Install cover (1) left and right.

Tighten down screws (1).

Required follow-up work: 

• Refer to INSTALLING SIDE TRIM PANEL  left and right
• Refer to INSTALLING HEAD RESTRAINT on rear left and right
• Close soft top compartment lid
• Close soft top.
