Removing and installing/replacing vacuum pump (S63T2) (X6 M)
IMPORTANT:
Installation note: Due to the risk of damage to the engine gaskets/seals and the lack of brake boosting, make sure before starting the engine that all the vacuum lines are connected.
Vacuum pump is fitted on cylinder head cover 1 to 4 at rear on intake camshaft.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Press brake pedal several times in order to reduce vacuum pressure in brake booster.
- Remove ENGINE BULKHEAD at center and right.
Removal:
Release screws (1).
NOTE:
Bolts (1) are secured against falling out.
Release screw (2).
Remove vacuum pump.
Installation:
Drive (1) must be rotated into correct position prior to installation.
Installation note:
Replace sealing ring (2) and coat with grease to facilitate installation.
Installation note:
Align vacuum pump drive to groove (1) of intake camshaft.
Vacuum pump can best be installed when groove (1) is vertically aligned.

Position vacuum pump.
Tighten down screws (1).
Tightening torque. 11 66 1AZ .
Required reworking:
- Install ENGINE BULKHEAD at center and right.
- Check function of DME.
- Check vacuum pump for leaks and correct operation.
