17 51 000 Removing and installing/replacing charge air cooler (N20 PHEV)

WARNING: High-voltage system - risk of serious injury or death. Observe SAFETY INFORMATION for working with electric vehicles.

IMPORTANT: Coat sealing rings of snap fasteners with lubricant.
Pressure pipes cannot be fitted without lubricant.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove front UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
Remove FAN COWL WITH ELECTRIC FAN .

Removal:

Release screws (1) on the coolant hose on left and right.

Feed out coolant hose (3) on holder (2) and lay to one side.

Release left and right screws (1).

Feed out lower section of module carrier (2) and remove.

Unlock right charge air line (1) on charge air cooler and release.

Unlock left charge air line (1) on charge air cooler and release.

Thread out charge air cooler (2) downwards in direction of arrow and remove.

Preparation for installation:

Installation note:

Pressure pipes cannot be fitted without lubricant.

Coat sealing rings of charge air hoses with lubricant.

Charge air hoses must audibly snap into place.

Check sealing rings (1).

Replace damaged sealing rings (1).

Installation:

Feed in charge air cooler in direction of the arrow and install.

Connect left charge air line (1) to charge air cooler and lock.

Lock must snap audibly into place.

Connect front right charge air line (1) to charge air cooler and lock.

Lock must snap audibly into place.

Thread in lower section of module carrier (2) and install.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 17 10 2AZ .

Feed in and install coolant hose (3) on the holder (2).

Tighten left and right screw (1) on coolant hose.

Tightening torque 17 10 2AZ .
