Removing and installing/replacing pressure sensor on left charge air cooler (S63 B44 T 2) (X5 M)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Read out the fault memory of the DME control unit.
• Switch off Ignition.
• Remove INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .

Removal: 

Unclip Bowden cable for bonnet release and cable from fan cowl from transverse reinforcement.

Loosen screws (1).

Remove transverse reinforcement (2).

Clamp off coolant hose (1) using pinch-off tool.

Release and pull off coolant hose (1).

Catch and dispose of escaping coolant.

Unlock connector (1) and pull off.

Unfasten screws (2).

Pull pressure sensor (3) out of left charge air cooler.

Preparation for installation: 

Replace sealing ring (1) on pressure sensor.

Installation: 

Install pressure sensor (3) In left charge air cooler.

Tighten down screws (2).

Tightening torque 13 62 7AZ .

Connect connector (1) to pressure sensor and lock.

Connector (1) must engage audibly.

Connect coolant hose (1) to left charge air cooler.

The coolant hose (1) must audibly engage.

Install transverse reinforcement (2).

Parts:  Replace screws.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 17 10 4AZ .

Clip Bowden cable for bonnet release and cable from fan cowl to transverse reinforcement.

Required follow-up work: 

• Install INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
