Removing and installing/replacing auxiliary water pump for exhaust turbocharger (S63T2) (X5 M)
Only perform repair work after engine has cooled down.
Recycling:
Catch and dispose of drained coolant in a suitable collecting vessel.
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.
Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
Removal:
Unclip coolant hose (1) from bracket (2) and place to one side.
Unclip coolant hose (3) from bracket (4) and place to one side.
Release screws (5).
Attention!
Risk of damage!
Coolant emerges when the coolant hoses are detached from the auxiliary coolant pump (5).
Cover surrounding components and plug connections with suitable apparatus.
Unlock connector (1) and pull off.
Unclip cable tie (2).
Release hose clamp (3 and 4) using suitable tool.
Detach coolant hose (3 and 4) and place to one side.
Remove coolant pump (5) toward the top.
Installation:
Installation note:
Replace hose clamp (3 and 4) .
Position coolant pump (5).
Mount coolant hose (3 and 4) and fix in place using new clamps.
Insert connector (1) and lock.
Clip in cable clip (2).
Clip coolant hose (3) into holder (4).
Clip coolant hose (1) into holder (2).
Tighten down screws (5).
Tightening torque 11 51 3AZ .
Necessary follow-up work:
- Install INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
- Add COOLANT .
Assemble engine.
