IMPORTANT:
Risk of engine damage.
The intake valves of the cylinder to be cleaned must be closed when cleaning the intake ports.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

IMPORTANT: Determine the TDC (intake valves closed) using a TDC determination unit via the spark plug bore hole. (For example special tool 2 302 630)

Turn the engine on the central bolt until cylinder 1 is in TDC position.

NOTE: Operating pressure: 6 - 8 bar.

Main valve:  (1).

Compressed air connection:  (3).

IMPORTANT: If the blasting sensors do not show notches/marks in the area at the front: attach marks as shown (approximately 2 - 3 cm from the end of the sensor). Exclusively pull the blasting sensors from the extraction adapter until the mark is visible.

Potential blasting sensors:

Switch on vacuum cleaner. Hold the extraction adapter (2) on the intake port of the first cylinder.

Open the main valve on the blasting tool and switch the vacuum cleaner on.

Insert the blasting sensor (1) into the extraction adapter (2).

Open the safety valve of the operation.

Wear safety goggles.

Slide locking lever (1) to the front in direction of arrow.

Operate compressed-air valve (2) at stage one; compressed air can now flow in.

Fully operate valve (3) at stage two; walnut shell granulate is now injected.

Swivel the blasting sensor to improve cleaning results.

Blasting wand may only be pulled out until the mark becomes visible  .

NOTE: Cleaning time approximately 10 - 20 s  .
After the cleaning operation, continue to operate the compressed-air valve (2) for approximately 10 s to agitate and draw off the remaining granulate.

Close the valve (1).

Assess the result. If necessary, repeat procedure.

NOTE: Check that no walnut shell granulate remains in the intake port.
IMPORTANT: Do not crank engine in reverse direction. The intake valves of the cylinder to be cleaned must be closed when cleaning the intake ports.

Crank engine at central bolt.

Turn the remaining cylinders to TDC position using a TDC determination unit via the spark plug bore hole.

(For example special tool 2 302 630)

Clean the intake ports of the remaining cylinders as described above.
