61 31 221 Removing and installing/replacing both multifunction steering wheel switches
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove airbag unit . See 32 34 030 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING AIRBAG UNIT (SPORTS STEERING WHEEL) or 32 34 020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING AIRBAG UNIT .
- If necessary remove SHIFT PADDLES FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION .
NOTE:
Steering wheel is shown removed here for purposes of clarity.
Unscrew bolts on rear of steering wheel (1).
Remove both multifunction steering wheel switches (1) together with trim cover from steering wheel (2) in direction of arrow.
Disconnect plug connections at the back.
Installation note:
Make sure multifunction steering wheel switch (1) is fitted correctly.
Make sure electrical wiring is correctly routed.
Unscrew bolts multi-function steering wheel switch (1).
Carefully remove multifunction steering wheel switch (1) from cover (2) in direction of arrow.
Installation note:
Make sure both multifunction steering wheel switches (1) are fitted correctly.
Make sure electrical wiring is correctly routed.
