17 51 085 Removing and installing/replacing pipe between charge air cooler and intake plenum (M57T2)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove acoustic cover. See ACOUSTIC COVER .
Remove UNDERBODY PROTECTION

Unclip Bowden cable for engine compartment lid operation from transverse reinforcement (1).

Release screws on both sides.

Tightening torque: 51 71 4AZ .

Remove transverse reinforcement (1).

Press out clamp (1) from charge air hose (2) in direction of arrow.

Unlock and pull off the connector (3) from the temperature sensor.

Pull down charge air hose in direction of arrow.

Installation note:

Lubricate connection for the charge air hose with slip paste and securely connect the hose. Clamp must audibly snap into place.

Undo charge air hose (1 left) on charge air cooler. (Graphic shows E60, procedure for E70, E71 is identical).

Installation note:

Lubricate connection for the charge air hose with slip paste and securely connect the hose. Clamp must audibly snap into place.

Assemble engine.
