17 51 000 Removing and installing/replacing charge air cooler (M57T2, N57)

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove UNDERBODY PROTECTION
Active front steering only:

Remove fan cowl . See 17 11 035 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FAN COWL WITH ELECTRIC FAN (M57T2) .

IMPORTANT: Coat sealing rings of snap fasteners with lubricant.
Pressure pipes cannot be fitted without lubricant.

Remove charge air cooler cover.

(Picture shows right-hand bolts).

Unlock snap fasteners and pull off left and right charge air hoses (1) from charge air cooler.

Feed out charge air cooler (2) and remove.

Installation note:

Charge air hoses must audibly snap into place.

Coat sealing rings of charge air hoses with lubricant.

Pressure pipes cannot be fitted without lubricant.
