24 12 131 Removing and installing/replacing radial shaft seal for gearshift shaft (AISIN F22AW)

Special tools required:

24 4 290

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove the THROTTLE BODY .
Remove the EGS CONTROL UNIT .

Removal:

Lever out sealing ring (1) with a screwdriver.

IMPORTANT: Mask off the screwdriver tip.
The surfaces of the sealing ring making contact with the gearshift shaft and the transmission must not be damaged.

Installation:

Coat sealing lips of new radial shaft seal with clean transmission oil.

Drive in radial shaft seal with special tool 24 4 290 until it stops.

Required follow-up work:

Install the EGS CONTROL UNIT .
Install the THROTTLE BODY .
