Installing the engine on the assembly jig
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE COMPLETE FRONT AXLE WITH THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION .
- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT OUTPUT SHAFTS (ON THE MOBILE LIFTING TABLE) .
- Refer to REMOVING THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FOR CYLINDERS 1 TO 6 .
- Refer to REMOVING THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FOR CYLINDERS 7 TO 12 .
- Refer to REMOVING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (ON MOBILE LIFTING TABLE) .
- Refer to DISCONNECTING THE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKETS FROM THE LEFT AND RIGHT ENGINE MOUNTS .
- Refer to ATTACHING THE ENGINE ON THE WORKSHOP CRANE .
- Refer to REMOVING THE RIGHT ENGINE MOUNT HOLDER .
- Refer to PREPARING THE ASSEMBLY JIG .

- Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.
- Install special tool 0 495 197 (00 2 321)
on special tool 0 495 187 (00 2 300)
.TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Engine mounting bracket on assembly jig M14 x 95 Tightening torque 130 Nm - Install special tool 0 495 198 (00 2 322)
on special tool 0 495 197 (00 2 321)

- Install special tool 2 413 082 on special tool 0 495 198 (00 2 322)
.TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Motor mount on the engine stand M10 Tightening torque 100 Nm - Install special tool 2 449 395 with suitable screws in place of the right engine mounting bracket on the crankcase.
- Tighten the screws (1)
.TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Engine support bracket on the engine M10 Tightening torque 38 Nm - Lower the engine slowly.
- Ensure that special tool 2 449 395 engages in arrow direction in special tool 2 413 082 .
- Tighten the nuts (1) until the gripping jaws are completely flush.
