51 16 172 Removing and installing/replacing center armrest storage compartment

Special tools required: 

• 00 9 325
• 00 9 327

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove center armrest cover. See 51 16 167 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (REPLACING) CENTER ARMREST COVER .

Unlock and disconnect all front plug connections (2) on center console storage compartment (1).

Unlock retaining tabs (2) all the way around with special tool 00 9 327 .

Version with LED only - F12/F13: 

• Disconnect plug connection (2) from LED.

Lift out center console storage compartment (1) from top.

Replacement

• Modify charging socket cover
• Modify front and rear insert mat
• Modify floor cover
• Version with LED only - F12/F13: 

  Modify light guide
