Removing and installing/replacing front centering for propeller shaft
Special tools required:
- 2 450 247
- 11 2 350
- 00 5 500
Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove propeller shaft. Refer to COMPLETELY REMOVE AND INSTALL THE PROPELLER SHAFT MADE OF STEEL (INSERTED AT THE REAR) or REMOVING AND INSTALLING CARBON PROPELLER SHAFT (INSERTED) COMPLETE .
Removal:
Use the special tool 2 450 247 to remove the centering bearing.
Insert pin (1) and pin (2) of the special tool 2 450 247 into the centering bearing of the propeller
shaft.
Twist pin (1) 90° to pin (2).
Twist pin (2) between pin (1) and (3) of the special tool 2 450 247 into the centering bearing of the propeller shaft.
Twist pin (2) by 90°.
Lock special tool 2 450 247 by twisting the sleeve (1).
Pins (2) are locked with sleeve (1).
Install guide sleeve (1).
Screw spindle (3) with special tool 2 450 247 (2) and support on the guide sleeve (1).
Rotate nut (1) in direction of arrow and pull out of the centering bearing.
Installation:
Installation note:
Remove the grease/water from bore hole.
Drive in centering bearing (1) with special tools 11 2 350 and 00 5 500 into propeller shaft (observe protrusion).
Required follow-up work:
- Install PROPELLER SHAFT .
