41 62 043 Removing And Installing/Replacing Left Tailgate Hinge

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove trim panel for storage shelf (parcel shelf): Refer to 51 46 005 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (REPLACING) TRIM PANEL FOR STORAGE SHELF (VERSION WITH ROLLER SUNBLIND AND THROUGH-LOADING SYSTEM) and 51 46 011 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (REPLACING) TRIM PANEL FOR STORAGE SHELF (VERSION WITH THROUGH-LOADING SYSTEM)
- Remove left TENSION SPRING for tailgate
Secure tailgate against falling down with a second person.
Release screws (1).
Tightening torque: 41 62 1AZ .
Release nuts (1) and remove hinge.
Installation note:
Tightening torque: 41 62 1AZ/2AZ .
Adjust hinge together with TAILGATE .
Only if hinge is replaced:
IMPORTANT:
Risk of short circuits caused by sharp-edged component in area (1)!
The wiring harness (2) must be completely wrapped with insulating tape in area (1)!
Check insulation of wiring harness in area (1) and completely wrap with insulating tape if necessary.
The wiring harness (2) must be completely wrapped with insulating tape in area (1)!
Check insulation of wiring harness in area (1) and completely wrap with insulating tape if necessary.
