Removing the system battery

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.
- Release the screw (1) and the expanding rivet (2).
- Remove the mounting for the gasket (3).
- Loosen screw (1).
- Remove cover (2).
- Loosen screws (1).
- Release the screw (2) and guide out the tension strut (3).
- Detach the vent hose (2).
- Slacken the nut (3) on the positive battery terminal and remove the positive battery terminal.WARNING: Unprotected battery terminals .

- Loosen the screw (4) and remove the holder.
- Remove the vehicle battery (1).
