Converting the production date
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2023 BMW X2, 2022 BMW X2, 2021 BMW X2, 2020 BMW X2, and 2019 BMW X2. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Precondition
A production date and no expiration date is printed on the gas pressure springs for hood.
If an expiration date is printed: Continue with step 3.
- The production date (2) has the format (days/year).
- The production date must be converted to the (month/year) format.
- For the conversion, it is necessary to first determine whether the printed year is a leap year.
Leap year 2000 2004 2008 2012 2016 2020 2024 2028 2032 2036 2040 2044 ... - 2016 is a leap year (example from the illustration).
- In the second step, the imprinted day number (2) is converted to the month using one of the following tables.REGULAR YEAR
Month Days Day number January 31 1 ≤ n ≤ 31 February 28 32 ≤ n ≤ 59 March 31 60 ≤ n ≤ 90 April 30 91 ≤ n ≤ 120 May 31 121 ≤ n ≤ 151 June 30 152 ≤ n ≤ 181 July 31 182 ≤ n ≤ 212 August 31 213 ≤ n ≤ 243 September 30 244 ≤ n ≤ 273 October 31 274 ≤ n ≤ 304 November 30 305 ≤ n ≤ 334 December 31 335 ≤ n ≤ 365 LEAP YEARMonth Days Day number January 31 1 ≤ n ≤ 31 February 29 32 ≤ n ≤ 60 March 31 61 ≤ n ≤ 91 April 30 92 ≤ n ≤ 121 May 31 122 ≤ n ≤ 152 June 30 153 ≤ n ≤ 182 July 31 183 ≤ n ≤ 213 August 31 214 ≤ n ≤ 244 September 30 245 ≤ n ≤ 274 October 31 275 ≤ n ≤ 305 November 30 306 ≤ n ≤ 335 December 31 336 ≤ n ≤ 365 - 253 corresponds to the month of September (example from the illustration).
