- When working on the fuel system, make sure the workstation has sufficient ventilation, e.g., by means of extraction.
- Tightly seal off open lines and connections; collect any leakage fuel directly at the point of exit.
- No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Collect and dispose of emerging fluids. Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.

- Set special tool 2 452 189 or 2 445 958 (1) on locking ring (2).
- Connect special tool 0 495 554 (33 5 070) to a 1/2-inch reversible ratchet head (3) and set it on special tool 2 452 189 2 445 958 .
- Tighten locking ring (2) in clockwise direction.
- Make sure that the locking ring to the fuel tank is engaged correctly.
- Check locks (1) and (2) of the snap fastener for damage and, if necessary, replace them.
Locks (1) and (2) must be locked.
- Connect and lock the snap fastener in the arrow direction.
The snap fastener must lock perceptibly and audibly.
- Connect connectors (1) and lock.
- Replace the seal (1).

- Replace the sealing cap of the floor panel.

There is a risk of leaks if the sealing cap of the floor panel is reused.
- Coat the seal in the area (1) with lubricant (refer to applicable BMW parts catalogue).
Installation aid Lubricants G14 900 ml, Can 83232360412 - Install the floor panel sealing cap (1).
- Lock sealing cap (1) of the floor panel in place on plastic tabs (2) up to the stop in the arrow direction.
