NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
For vehicles with active pedestrian protection (SA8TF), both gas-filled shock absorbers of the hood must be regularly replaced as part of preventive maintenance.
With some gas-filled shock absorbers, the expiration date is printed on. For all others, only the production date is printed on.
Regardless of the printing, both gas-filled shock absorbers of the hood must be regularly replaced as part of preventive maintenance.

Preliminary work

- Refer to DETERMINING THE DATE OF THE NEXT BRAKE FLUID SERVICE .
- Check whether the expiry of the two gas pressure springs for hood has reached the date of the next brake fluid service.
- If the expiry is not reached: Replace the two gas pressure springs for hood against a separate calculation.
- Example vehicle 1:
Expiration date 02/2022 is earlier than the date of the next brake fluid service 04/2022.
=> Both gas pressure springs for hood must be replaced.
- Example vehicle 2: Expiration date 02/2022 is later than the date of the next brake fluid service 12/2021.
=> Neither of the gas pressure springs for hood need to be replaced at the current point in time.
