12 14 521 Replacing crankshaft pulse sensor (230i and 230i xDrive coupe/convertible)

CAUTION: Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION) .

Necessary preliminary work:

Removal:

Loosen the screws along the arrows.

Remove connecting rod (1).

Unlock and release fuel line (1).

Unlock and release clamp (2).

Unscrew nut (3).

Remove guard plate (4).

Unlock connector (1) and remove.

Release screw (2).

Remove pulse generator (3).

Preparation for installation:

Installation:

Insert pulse sensor (3) and install.

Tighten screw (2).

Tightening torque 13 62 2AZ .

Attach connector (1) on pulse sensor.

Connector (1) must engage audibly.

Install protective plate (4).

Tighten nut (4).

Connect and lock fuel line (1).

Connect clamp (2) and lock.

Clamp (2) must audibly snap into place.

Install connecting rod (1).

Tighten screws along arrows.

Tightening torque 12 41 2AZ .
