11 71 501 Removing and installing/replacing exhaust-gas recirculation valve (EGR) (N47 D20 O1)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove front acoustic cover. See 13..... REMOVE ACOUSTIC COVER (N47 D20 O/T1) .
• Remove INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING (E8x, F25 only).
• Remove CLEAN AIR PIPE (E8x, F25 only).

Unlock vent line (2) and pull off to achieve improved freedom of movement of the exhaust-gas recirculation valve mounting.

Release screws (1) on exhaust-gas recirculation valve (3).

Release coolant lines (2 and 4).

Disconnect plug connection on exhaust-gas recirculation valve (3).

Installation note: 

Install rear hose (2) before installing the exhaust-gas recirculation valve.

Replace O-ring.

Assemble engine.

Check function of DDE.
