51 45 266 Removing and installing/replacing right instrument panel trim

IMPORTANT:
Risk of damage!
A hard disk is installed in the Car Information Computer (CIC).
Carry out mechanical work on the CIC and adjacent components with care.
Avoid subjecting the CIC to shaking/shocks.
Necessary preliminary tasks
(Only with Radio Business or Radio Professional equipment specification)
- Remove RADIO RECEIVER
NOTE:
Carry out following work step only in case of optional equipment with Car Information Computer (CIC)
Unclip trim (1) with special tool 00 9 323.
NOTE:
For clearer illustration, shown with front trim on CIC removed.
Release screws (1).
Open glovebox cover (1).
Release screws (2) at marked points in upper area of glovebox.
Lever out insertion slot (1) with special tool 00 9 323 and remove.
Release screw behind.
Carefully lever out instrument panel trim (2) towards front.
Unlock associated plug connections and disconnect.
Remove instrument panel pipe trim (2).
Replacement
- Remove CONTROL PANEL FOR HEATING - A/C SYSTEM
- Remove START/STOP SWITCH
