Removing and installing/replacing right glove box with housing (X5 M)

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove RIGHT FRESH AIR GRILLE .

Version with knee airbag: 

• Remove PASSENGER'S SIDE KNEE AIRBAG .

Version without knee airbag: 

Release screws (1).

Release trim panel (2) from clips (3).

Installation note: 

Replace faulty clamps (3).

Release screws (1) from below.

Installation note: 

Ensure the glove box is correctly seated (see arrow).

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Unfasten screws (2).

Pull the glove box (3) outwards slightly and, if necessary, unfasten additional cable retainers and/or unplug electrical connectors.

Replacement: 

• Remount GLOVE BOX DAMPER .
• Remount GLOVE BOX LID .
• Remount GLOVE BOX LIGHT .
