67 31 540 Removing and installing/replacing backrest upper section adjustment motor

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove both rear panels on front seat backrest  . See 52 17 205 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BOTH REAR PANELS ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT BACKREST  or 52 17 205 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BOTH REAR PANELS ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT BACKREST (COMFORT) 

Detach seat fabric (1) in marked area.

Unfasten shaft (1) and pull out of holder in direction of arrow.

Slacken nut (2).

Fold seat fabric (3) forwards.

Installation note: 

Make sure shaft (1) is correctly seated in holder.

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Pull out clamp (3).

Remove backrest upper section adjustment motor (2).

Replacement: 

Remove GEAR UNIT FOR BACKREST UPPER SECTION ADJUSTMENT .

Transfer dimension A of the new drive (1) to gear unit (2) by turning the spindle (3).

INITIALIZE backrest upper section adjustment motor.
