52 17 035 Removing and installing/replacing transmission for backrest upper section adjustment

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove both rear panels for front seat backrest . See 52 17 205 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BOTH REAR PANELS ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT BACKREST or 52 17 205 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BOTH REAR PANELS ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT BACKREST (COMFORT)

Detach seat fabric (1) in marked area.

Unclip cover (1).

Pull shaft (2) from transmission for backrest upper section adjustment.

Release nut (3) and remove washer.

Installation note:

Make sure shaft (2) is correctly seated in associated fixture.

Pull out clamp (1).

Remove the transmission for the backrest upper section adjustment (2).

Replacement:

Measure dimension A of the removed transmission for the backrest upper section adjustment (1).

Measure dimension A by turning the fixture (2) on the new transmission for backrest upper section adjustment (1).
