26 12 001 Replacing complete propeller shaft center bearing (constant velocity joint)

Special tools required: 

IMPORTANT: Propeller shaft is balanced as a unit.

Mark the front propeller shaft to the rear propeller shaft with a paint pen.

Marking with major surface damage (e.g. punch mark) is not permitted.

Release screw (1).

Pull apart propeller shaft.

Installation note: 

Thread free of grease.

Make sure that the marks match when sliding the unit together.

Install screw (1) with screw locking.

Tightening torque 26 11 9AZ .

Remove the shim and/or dust guard.

Remove the center mount with special tool 00 7 500 /33 1 307 and conventional pull-off tools.

Drive new center mount firmly with special tool up to limit position 24 0 090 and/or 24 1 050 .

NOTE: Inner bearing diameter 30 mm, use special tool 24 0 090 .
Inner bearing diameter 35 mm, use special tool 24 1 050 .
