37 00 100 Draining/filling air spring system

Drain the air spring system before carrying out any repair work on the air supply system, air pipes and air springs! Danger of injury if this instruction is not complied with!

IMPORTANT:
Risk of damage!
To fill the air springs, raise the vehicle until the wheels are freely suspended.

Deactivating air suspension system
- Open FUSE BOX IN LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT at rear right
- Pull out fuse (F182) for air supply system
Draining air spring system
- Connect BMW diagnosis system
- Switch on ignition.
- Drain air springs with aid of BMW diagnosis system (Service functions: menu item "Bleeding procedure")
- Raise vehicle until wheels are freely suspended
- Remove ignition key
Activating and filling air spring system
- Raise vehicle until wheels are freely suspended
- Check air spring lower section (1) for correct latching in wheel carrier, correct if necessary
IMPORTANT:
Risk of damage!
First raise the vehicle (until the wheels are freely suspended) and then activate the air spring system by inserting the fuse. Failure to comply may result in damage to the air springs!

- Insert fuse (F182) in corresponding slot in fuse box
- Connect BMW diagnosis system
- Switch on ignition.
- Fill air springs using BMW diagnosis system (control unit functions)
- Lower vehicle
- Delete fault memory
